10 fake medical certificates were found at the Transcarpathian customs office

In January-February 2016, officers of the Transcarpathian customs office revealed 10 facts of submission of fake medical certificates to the customs office by owners of transit vehicles.

Note that the fact of accident or force majeure shall be proved by the owner of the goods or his authorized representative, the carrier or the person responsible for compliance with the customs regime by presentation of the documents about the breakdown of the vehicle or illness to the customs authority handling the goods.

The carrier shall be brought to administrative liability for violation of the procedure for goods transit according to the Customs Code of Ukraine.

In order to verify the facts certified by documents about vehicle breakdown or illness submitted by citizens, Transcarpathian customs office sends requests to other government agencies and institutions (Part 8, Part 1 of Art. 336 of the Customs Code of Ukraine).

As noted earlier, personal use vehicles permanently registered with the relevant registration authorities of foreign states, as evidenced by the relevant document, shall be imported by resident citizens into the territory of Ukraine in accordance with the requirements of Art. 381 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
