The Deputy Mayor of Uzhgorod Oleksandr Bilak has provided clarification on student cards, which are the basis for the free use of city buses for students in grades 1-11 of Uzhgorod schools.
To receive a card for the child, parents only need to give a 3×4 photo of the student to the school where he or she learns. The form of the card was determined at the meeting of experts, it is recommended by the city government and this form is provided to each school to use.
Forms such cards are not made centrally – every school provides their students with them free of charge. Many students, especially those who travel to take part in sport and academic competitions, etc. have privileges for long-distance transport and already have student cards, they can use them for the buses in the city. All other children will receive documents at school.
While the work on making of student cards continues, it is agreed with the carriers that drivers should carry school-age children for free.
