Rakhiv rescuers helped tourists lost in mountains

In the morning of January 31, two tourists from the Kyiv region lost their way in the area of the Petros mountain of the Rakhiv district. The boys went on the mountain rout from the settlement of Yasinia without previously registering themselves at the rescue unit. They lost their reference point due to the fog. At 10:50 a.m. they dialed "101", the Rescue service to ask for help.

Due to bad weather, the searching operation lasted until evening. The mountain search and rescue department of Lazeshchyna found the boys at 6:20 p.m. The tourists were helped down from the mountain. There was no need in medical aid. After having arrived to the route, the visitors of Transcarpathia refused any further help of the rescuers and continued their tour.

All in all, eight tourists got lost in the mountains of Transcarpathia, especially in the Rakhiv district in the last three days. They came from different points of the state. All of them were found and helped. Nevertheless, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Zakarpattia warns the citizens to limit mountain trips because of severe weather conditions. If you still want to conquer mountain slopes, do not forget to register yourself at the nearest mountain search and rescue department. Here, you will also receive some useful information from the rescuers.
