What, where, when on the weekend in Transcarpathia (30-31 of January)

January 30 – exhibition of the artist Victor Grabar. The exhibition features 100 works of the artist. 10.00-18.00 (city art gallery, Fedorov st. 5, Mukachevo).

30 January – Festival of Butchers. 7:00 Gathering of the teams in the territory of the festival. Presentation of the teams participating in the competition, introduction to folk traditions of pig slaughter.  Refreshments for contestants – hot wine (mulled wine) and homemade vodka
8:00 Catching and slaughtering of pigs, traditional roasting of pigs with straw, meat processing, sorting
8:00-14:00 Cooking of Hungarian national dishes of pork
8:00-18:00 Tasting of local wine
9:00 Tasting and sale of dishes, smoked sausage demonstration
14.00 Official opening of the festival.
14:00 – 17:00 Entertainment program
17:00 Awarding ceremony. Folk songs and dances. 

20:00 Dancing and entertainment. (central square of the village of Hecha, Beregovo district).

January 30 – Charity Ball in support of the restoration of the House of Catholic Youth. Beginning at 18.00 (the restaurant "Zolota Pava", Beregovo).

January 30-31 – retrospective exhibition of Transcarpathian artist Petro Sholtes. The exhibition features 80 paintings and graphic works from different periods of the author’s life. 9.00-17.00 (Transcarpathian Art Museum, Uzhgorod).

January 30-31 – Exhibition of Y.Bokshay and A.Erdelyi Prize winners. About 50 works of Transcarpathian artists, sculptors will be presented. Saturday – 11.00-15.00, Sunday – 11.00-13.00 ("Uzhgorod" gallery).

January 31 – performance "Snowman and Sun" by Oleksandr Veselov. Beginning at 11.00 and 13.00 (Transcarpathian Puppet Theatre "Bavka", Uzhgorod).

January 31 – premiere of the play "The Good Soldier Svejk" by Jaroslav Hasek (director – honored theater artist Vasyl Shershun).The beginning is at 18.00 (Regional Music and Drama Theater, Uzhgorod).
