Uzhgorod schools are closed for quarantine!

On Monday, January 25, a quarantine is introduced in the schools of the city because of rising ARVI incidence rate.

The relevant order was signed by the Mayor of Uzhgorod Bogdan Andriyiv after the meeting of the city anti-epidemic commission. The quarantine will last until February 8.

Thus, from 14 to 21 of January, 884 appeals for medical help about ARVI were registered, which is 1.8 times more than the epidemic threshold level (44.3 per 10 thousand people). 

 
Most patients – 601, or 68% of the total amount – are children under 17 years. This is 22.6% higher than the previous week’s figure. Compared to the last week, the number of hospitalized patients with ARVI doubled – 93 persons, including 70 children under 17, which 79% more than that in the second week of January. 
As of January 21, 2016: 
– 2 cases of A influenza among children have been registered; 
– According to the daily monitoring of attendance at schools and educational institutions, dynamic growth in the number of absent children with ARVI has been observed (over the last 3 days: in schools – from 13.9% to 15.4%, in kindergartens – from 14% to 15%). 

The quarantine will last until February 8.
