The police classified the fire in the car of the former Chairman of the Regional Council of Transcarpathia as arson (Officially)

Last night, in the regional center of Transcarpathia, car "Mercedes Benz GL 550" burned down. The police classifies the incident as arson.

January 20, at 19.21, it was reported that on Bozhenko street in Uzhgorod (near the RSA), a car was burning. Patrol police, investigative team and rescuers immediately arrived at the scene. Firefighters extinguished the fire and did not let it spread to another car parked nearby.

It was established that a gray car "Mercedes Benz GL550" released in 2008 had been set on fire at this address.  The car belongs to the chairman of the regional council of the previous convocation. The fire completely destroyed the engine compartment, interior and car body.

The territory was equipped with surveillance means. The police are reviewing footages from the CCTV cameras. The investigation is ongoing.

The incident id registered in the URPI under Part 2 of Art. 194 (Deliberate destruction or damage of property by arson). It is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to ten years – the PR department of the National Police office in Transcarpathian region informed.
