“Zakarpathaz” PJSC: forensic expertise has confirmed the death of the pensioners from Pidhirna street due to carbon monoxide poisoning

The "Zakarpathaz" PJSC received the report of Uzhgorod interdistrict forensics department confirming the death of two seniors on Pidhirna street, which occurred on January 10, 2016 in the regional center – due to acute poisoning carbon monoxide. According to the conclusions of the examination, a 66% concentration of carboxyhemoglobin was found in the blood of the men, and 71% – in the blood of the woman.

The causes, circumstances and those responsible for the tragedy will be determined by the commission chaired by the Office of the State Labor Service in Transcarpathian region. The results of the investigation and the measures taken will be announced later.

Note: During 2015, two accidents that occurred due to carbon monoxide poisoning were recorded in Transcarpathia, which once again confirms the lack of attention of consumers to the rules of operation of gas equipment and condition of smoke and ventilation ducts in their homes. The cases occurred in Mukachevo and Khust. Five people were affected, three of whom died.
