From the cradle to the grave, a Hutsul carries a wool blanket – a traditional weaving product that has practical application, important ritual-guarding significane and artistic value. The collection of the National Museum of Folk Art of the Hutsul Land and Pokuttya today has more than 200 wool blankets the oldest of which date from the late nineteenth century and originate in Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
On December 29, unique artifacts will be presented in the Transcarpathian Regional Museum of Folk Architecture and Life. The organizers of the traveling exhibition are already mentioned National Museum of Folk Art of the Hutsul Land and Pokuttya, Yavoriv Folk Art Center "Hutsulska grazhda" and the Kosovo institute of applied and decorative art, students of which have devoted a lot of projects and dissertations on implementation of folk traditions in modern clothes and other textile products.
