In Mukachevo, a sakura blossoms for the third consecutive winter (Photo-fact)

A very frost resistant tree with an abnormal biorhythm grows in the center of Mukachevo on Fedorov square.

Notably, the sakura blossoms both in usual season- April-May, and in cold season. Sometimes even three times a year – in late November, then in January and then in April-May.

The first time when this sakura blossomed during an unusual season was in January 2014, when it shocked the Red Wine festival guests. The same year, it blossomed in April and May, and then again in late November 2014 and until the end of December. In 2015, the sakura blossomed again with other Japanese cherry trees in April and May, and now it blossomed again in late November and is still blooming. Of course, flowers in cold season are somewhat more modest than in the spring, but still.

Environmentalists, by the way, predicted the death of the tree because of such anomality, but currently, the sakura seems okay 😉
