On November 5, border guards of the Mukachevo border guard detachment officially received the certificates of participants of the antiterrorist operation. Overall, 19 soldiers received the document.
As noted by the Acting Chief of the Mukachevo border guard detachment Lieutenant Colonel Serhiy Melnik, all border guards, who have been in the East, deserve special thanks.
"I am very pleased that in such a difficult time for the country you have performed your military duty with dignity and honor", – he said to his subordinates.
Then Lieutenant Colonel Serhiy Melnik handed the certificates of the ATO participants to 19 border guards, who were carrying military service in the area of the antiterrorist operation.
"The certificate of ATO participant is a kind of recognition of the Ukrainian people that I and my colleagues have performed our duty of protecting the homeland" – captain Serhiy Zakyrnychny said after the ceremony.
During the ceremony, the soldiers also remembered those who never returned from the combat mission. They observed a minute of silence in their honour.
