For 70 years now, the Honored Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir has been one of the best representants of our land at home and abroad.
Since its establishment and till today this collective has been performing a high mission – preserving and showing all the beauty and uniqueness of local cultural traditions all around the world. Transcarpathia has always been at the crossroads, on the border of different countries and eras. During that time, a certain relationships of multiple ethnic cultures formed here. And this identity is perhaps our greatest wealth that can surprise, enthrall and give aesthetic pleasure.
The Honored Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir has always played an important role in cultural and social life of the region. That is why, they respond sensitively to the most important events in the country. Celebrating the Independence Day of Ukraine with dawn concerts "Prayer for Ukraine" on the bank of the Uzh has already become a good tradition for the choir. And on the Day of Unification of Ukraine, the choir sang in the waiting room of the railway station in Uzhgorod.
The highlight of the jubilee year of the Honored Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir will be the gala concert to be held on October 18 at 17.00, in the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic. The artistic director of the choir, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Natalia Petiy-Potapchuk. Hosts – Natalia Delegan and Vasyl Matola. The program includes works of the "gold" fund, as well as new compositions and performances. Regional officials, guests from Kyiv, Hungary, Slovakia and other countries will come to join the congratulations.
