In Uzhgorod, music was played in honor of music

October 1, music lovers celebrate the International Day of Music – the art which knows no language barriers, no age limit, which in all its diversity can touch everyone and fill every heart.

Transcarpathians know well what kind of music Volodymyr Spivak likes, and many of them share the tastes of the artistic director and conductor of the variety brass band of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic.

On the occasion of the holiday, the band prepared a rich concert program with known hits and new songs in their repertoire. In particular, the orchestra performed the eponymous song from the musical "New York, New York," a medley on the theme tunes for the film "Sun Valley Serenade", interpretations of the songs by the Fab Four "The Beatles" and "Bohemian rhapsody" by legendary British band "Queen". The orchestra’s performace was adorned with the debut of the soloist Irina Filipenko with the song "Spring" arranged by V.Kononchuk and XX century jazz hit "All of me".

By the way, the celebration of the International Day of Music launched exactly 40 years ago on the initiative of the International Music Council and with the support of the UNESCO. On this day, they traditionally perform pieces that have become the heritage of world music – the variety brass, as always, did it brilliantly! The next time the band will perform in honor of a no less valuable holiday for Transcarpathian music lovers – the 10th anniversary of its founding, which the orchestra will celebrate at the end of November.
