240 packs of cigarettes did not get to the EU

At the customs post "Dyakove" of the Transcarpathian customs, a citizen of Hungary tried to illegally move to Romania tobacco products in a "Mercedes 200D".

Customs officers became suspicious about the possible movement of excise goods by the foreigner. It was decided to conduct a thorough examination of the car. As a result, the suspicion was confirmed: cigarettes "ROTHMANS" made in Ukraine with excise stamps of Ukraine were found hidden in the car. The total amount of the tobacco products was 240 packs.

The cigarettes were hidden from customs control in specially made caches under the front wings of the car. To reach the hidden goods, customs officers removed the steel plates that covered the cigarettes.

The citizen told that he had bought the cigarettes in Vynogradiv, he said the price he had bought them at and where he had hidden them. He was moving cigarettes across the border for the first time with intention to sell them in Hungary to make money.

Thus, the citizen committed acts aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, ie using specially manufactured caches. These actions contain signs of violation of customs regulations under part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, under the report on customs regulations violation, the goods being the direct objects of customs regulations violation and the vehicle with specially made cache were seized.
