On September 3, in the evening, Uzhgorod residents could see a black smoke in the air above the industrial zone. As it turned out, an out-of-use warehouse at the Machine-Building Plant "Tisa" JSC on Paryzka Komuna street was burning.
The operational-rescue service of Transcarpathia received the report of fire at 19:50.
The divisions of the 14th and 15th State Fire and Rescue Units in Uzhgorod rushed to the scene. At 20:39, firefighters localized the fire and at 21:50, completely eliminated it. The firefighting was complicated because of old remnants of various paints kept in the abandoned warehouse.
Causes of fire and damages caused are being established. The fire destroyed barrels with remains of paints, covering over an estimated area of 120 square meters and about 100 square meters of roof and damaged the warehouse structures.
