Yesterday, a number of Transcarpathian media circulated the information alleging that "a group of seniors brutally beat a freshman who had refused to perform their whims." The management of UzhNU immediately responded to the information and decided to find out what actually happened.
As stated by the campus administration and representatives of the rector’s office, in the dormitory №1, a conflict had arisen between students. The boys, including a freshman Denis D., decided to sort things out, and a verbal skirmish escalated to minor tussle. According to the participant of the incident Denis D., who is studying in the first year at the Faculty of Human Health, the incident was local and insignificant. Therefore the guy did not turn neither to the police, nor to the doctors, nor to the management of the campus. "I can stand up for myself, we have settled the conflict and now it’s over" – Denis D said.
The student continues to study, attends classes and stays at the dorm.
The administration of the campus and the university management assured that they monitor all conflicts and if necessary impose administrative measures on "initiators". And also urge students in any conflict situations to immediately report them to guards, members of the student government and students on duty.
