In spring, Lviv workers will “break through” to Transcarpathia

In the course of the construction of the Beskyd railway tunnel in the Carpathians, 1,463 meters of the way has been passed.

By February 2016, the builders plan to pass another 302 meters, thus reaching the opposite side of the ridge, the press service of the Lviv railway informs. After the completion of this phase, the contractors will continue to work on deepening the tunnel, the construction of the so-called lower ledge. Builders of the Lviv Railways, for their part, are working on the western portal of the tunnel.

Today, concreting of the river bed continues there, and the construction of a retaining wall is in the final stage. According to the Directorate for Construction of the Tunnel, provided good weather conditions, in October, the work on the western portal of the tunnel should be completed. 

Recall, that the main work on the tunnel construction is performed by the "Interbudmontazh" PJSC. The construction began in November 2013, the total length of the new tunnel will be 1,765 meters.
