The experience gained in creating the patrol police in Transcarpathia, will be the key to the whole reform – so says the project coordinator, MP Mustafa Nayem.

– As far as I understand, the salary of policemen in Transcarpathia will be not less than 8000 UAH. We put equal amount of knowledge, skills, our energy, strength and inspiration, resources in every policeman in Uzhgorod, as well as in Kyiv and Kharkiv. And they risk their lives also equally;

– The peculiarity of this region is that we have a highway between Uzhgorod and Mukachevo. There are even some calculations, thoughts, dreams of local authorities to extend it on the whole section of the highway between Uzhgorod and Chop. Maybe – it is a plan;

– We need about 25 cars. We can find this number in the region, if there is not enough – we will get them from Kyiv, there are plans. But the question is if Toyota Prius is the right vehicle to patrol here. Because this area has certain features – paving and relief and so on. But it will be decided in the process, when the police go out on the streets. We already have some ideas which cars can be used instead of Toyota Prius;

– Foot patrol and car patrol are the basis. As for bicycle, motorcycle, horse patrol, this is what we can build up later. In view of the terrain in Uzhgorod and Mukachevo: a large pedestrian area and paving, mountain terrain, it would be appropriate to consider such details. But now, at the start, we are not providing for such functions of the patrol police;

– Now in Uzhgorod and Mukachevo, there is a 20% shortfall of the candidates to the patrol police of Uzhgorod and Mukachevo;

– The experience that we will get in Uzhgorod and Mukachevo will be key to the formation of the new police in Ukraine. Because most of Ukraine is the same small cities like Uzhgorod and Mukachevo.
