At the request of the military prosecutor’s office of the Western Region of Ukraine, investigating judge of Shevchenko district court in the city of Lviv imposed on the head of the internal security division of the Western regional office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention for a period of 60 days and set a bail in the amount of 999,000 UAH.
As reported, the investigation department of the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Western region of Ukraine, jointly with the Department for combating corruption and organized crime of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Department of Internal Security of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine recorded the fact of receiving undue benefit in the amount of 15,000 UAH by the head of the department of internal security for the Mukachevo border guard detachment of the State Border Guard Service from a servicemen of the same detachment for withholding information that could have affected his further military service.
The crime was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obtaining undue advantage, coupled with extortion).
The pre-trial investigation continues, the press service of the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Western Region of Ukraine informs.
