12 boxes of contraband cigarettes and five illegal immigrants from Africa were detained in Transcarpathia

During the previous day, no significant incidents were recorded on the green border in Transcarpathian region, but several attempts of smuggling of small batches of tobacco products and illegal migrants were prevented.

In Velyky Berezny district, border guards detained five illegal aliens, citizens of Somalia who were trying to get to Slovakia with the help of a local guide (resident of the village of Zavosyno).

In Tyachiv district, two local residents attempted to smuggle across the Tisa river ten boxes of cigarettes to Romania, and in Vynogradiv district, near the village of Vylok. a local resident tried to smuggle two boxes of cigarettes to Hungary.

All incidents were duly reported, the detainees will be subject to administrative and criminal liability.
