Garden Hibiscus is the name of colorful flowering bushes in Uzhgorod. Pictured – Kotsiubynsky Street.
These bushes were once planted by the owners of the home nearby. They say that the plants bloom for a month. By the way, in evening, flowers "go to bed" and roll into "tubes".
It turns out that the Hibiscus genus belongs to the family of Malvaceae.
They are believed to originate from Southeast Asia. In Hawaii, hibiscus is called the "flower of beautiful women" and considered a national plant. In Brazil, by the way, one of the species is called "princess’s earrings." However, Hibiscus flowers perform not only a decorative function – their young leaves and shoots are edible; seeds, leaves, fruits and roots are used to produce various drugs; flowers are used to make black hair dye. There is even the "Hibiscus" tea.
