Narodna Square. This square has become controversial because of the conflict between Uzhgorod activists and former government of Transcarpathia over its appearance.
The reconstruction on Narodna Square at the time was one of the main controversial topics in the region. There, instead of the green lawn, as designed by Czech architect František Krupka, they planted a bed of roses, put benches and paved the green lawn with blocks. The main feature in the design of architect Volodymyr Pavley was an illuminated fountain.
However, the work has been suspended.
The "fountain" in turn looks more like a dump. So what are they going with Narodna Square? How long is it going to look like that?
