Demand for new vehicles fell by 45%

In May, 3423 vehicles were sold on the primary car market of Ukraine.

This was reported by the association "Ukravtoprom."

Thus, the domestic demand for motor vehicles fell by 45% compared to May in the last year.

The largest share in new car market accounts for sales of passenger cars – 87%. However, as already mentioned, the sales of new cars fell by 47% compared to last year.

Sales of commercial vehicles account for 11% of the market of new vehicles with 373 sold cars and showed 5 percent decrease in demand in this market segment.

Sales of new buses fell by almost 48% to 56 vehicles and accounts for only 2% of the May market of new vehicles.

Since the beginning of the year, 15,720 new vehicles have been sold and registered in Ukraine, which 72% less than the last year’s result for the same period.

The demand for passenger cars fell by 73% to 13,831 units, for commercial vehicles – fell by 51% to 1,681 units, and the buses – by 66% to just 208 units in five months.
