“Embrace us…” (PHOTOS)

External, objective, statistical truth about the war will be recorded by historians. Internal, subjective, emotional and living truth is perpetuated by artists. For whom does a man goes to war, to whom does he want to return, and… for whom does he give his life? For his mother, his native land, sweetheart.

"Embrace us, mother Ukraine" was the title of the concert of Uzhgorod College of Culture and Arts that was held on May 14 in the Regional Music and Drama Theater. The artists prepared a rich program, the central theme of which was the war and painfully touching experiences of those whom it separated.

"The Day of Remembrance and the Mother’s Day are closely intertwined through the events in Eastern Ukraine: our defenders leave their mothers and loved ones, not knowing whether they will ever return home. With our concert, we wanted to emphasize this connection, once again express deep respect and gratitude to the heroes and morally support mothers in this difficult time", – the Director of the College Natalia Shetelya says.

Oer 150 artists, students and teachers took part in the concert program. The participants performed with a completely new repertoire, including nearly 30 musical, vocal, theatrical and choreographic pieces.
