Financing of the projects under the Danube Strategy was analyzed in Budapest

In Budapest, there was a conference on financing of projects under the Danube Strategy, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. The purpose of the conference: structural presentation of the European Union funding sources that can be used in the implementation of the Danube Strategy.

First of all, it was about the priorities for the development of sustainable energy, restoration and maintaining of proper water quality and monitoring of environmental risks.

At the event, they delivered reports on successful projects undertaken by the Hungarian party within the Danube Strategy in 2007-2013 fiscal years, informed on future sources of funding for the projects through the EU programs "Horizon 2020", LIFE 2014-2020, ENPI Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine cross-border cooperation, Danube transnational program, etc.

Not being a member of the EU, Ukraine’s abilities are limited, but cross-border cooperation programs or the Danube transnational program in the future make available the sources that provide opportunities for the successful implementation of certain projects in Ukraine and Transcarpathia in particular.

Transcarpathian region was represented at the event by representatives of the Regional Council, the Department of Water Resources, agencies of regional development and cross-border cooperation, investment, and economic development of territories, employees of Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute. The event was useful and timely in the context of program planning for the new seven-year financial period of the European Union, exchanging of best practices and networking and finding partners for mutual projects.
