Another criminal case against officials of Uzhgorod city council…

In Transcarpathia, prosecutors initiated criminal proceedings against the officials who facilitated the illegal transfer of premises worth more than 2 million hryvnia

Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor’s Office initiated criminal proceedings against the officials of Uzhgorod City Council who supported the illegal transfer of the city community property worth more than 2 million hryvnia.

It is established that officials of Uzhgorod City Council intentionally presented to court false documents of an individual’s alleged title to basements (the basement next to the Botanical Garden). It further allowed the court to adopt the decision on the basis of which the entrepreneur privatized 600 square meters of real estate, which belonged to the city community.

The criminal proceeding was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 364 and Part 2 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or position and official forgery). The said offense is punishable by imprisonment for a term of five years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.

The preliminary inquiry is ongoing.
