Starting June 1, pensioners in Uzhgorod will have to pay for bus rides

This was announced yesterday, February 27, during a press conference by Uzhgorod carriers.

"Every day, all city buses carry about 30-40 thousand of Uzhgorod residents. However, more than 30 percent of them are benefit recipients, whom we carry for free because the state does not compensate us these costs.

Moreover, for some reason nobody says that starting from June 1, all pensioners and labor veterans will have no benefits for transportation – the Mukachevo.net informs.

These provisions are incorporated in the state budget for the next year. Meanwhile, as always, residents will blame it on us" – they said at the press-conference.

Recall that Uzhgorod carriers want to set a bus fare in amount of 4 hryvnia 50 kopiykas. Also, carriers stated that now they are working without a profit.
