Yesterday, Chop border guards detained another "seeker of happiness" for trying to illegally cross the border.
After triggering of an alarm device a few hundred meters from the Ukrainian-Slovak border, border guards of the department "Velyky Berezny" detained a man with no documents. The "tourist" told border guards that he was a citizen of Syria. According to the detainee, for several years he had lived and worked in Luhansk region, but decided to leave Ukraine and using the service Google maps headed towards Norway. Subsequently, border guards found out that this citizen in 2014 had already been detained by Chop border guards within Uzhgorod district for an identical offense.
In order to clarify the circumstances of the offense and draft administrative and procedural documents, the offender was taken to the border unit. Further fate of the detainee will be decided in court.
