On 20-21 of December, 2014, at the Transcarpathian Regional Military Commissariat, there was the tactical medicine training "Know, in order to save." The training was conducted by experienced tactical medicine instructors who treat wounded soldiers in the ATO area and are experienced in providing medical care in war conditions and emergency situations.
The relevance of such an event is undoubtful, therefore the management of the Transcarpathian RMC without hesitation cooperated with the organizers and provided premises for the training, organized accommodation of the participants at the regional assembly point of the Transcarpathian RMC.
The two-day course with the 22-hour program under the adapted TCCC standard was organized by the NGO of the medical detachment of special purpose "White Berets". The event was attended by representatives of the Transcarpathian Regional Military Commissariat, soldiers of the 15th separate mountain infantry battalion of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade, medical health care workers, medical students of higher educational institutions, volunteers, high school students from Kyiv, Cherkasy, Ternopil, Irshava, Uzhgorod. Total number of the tactical medicine training participants was more than 40 persons.
During the sessions, the participants acquired practical skills of examination and evaluation of the stability of the wounded, bleeding control, evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield, decompression, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, splinting and desmurgy, treatment of pneumothorax, working with plaits, dressings, restoring blood volume and working with intravenous catheters.
"The knowledge and skills, that were received during the training, are required both in peacetime and in combat conditions. We do not plan to stop – we are going to organize such trainings again and again" – one of the organizers of the training Eric Hleba said.
