Ukrainian banking sector is ready for European Integration – the National Bank Chairman

The banking system of Ukraine conforms to international laws and is ready for integration into the European Union.

This was stated during the fifth Ukrainian Investment Forum the head of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeria Gontareva, the UNIAN reported.

"Ukrainian banking system conforms to international laws, the principles of accounting. We have quite a strong banking sector, which is ready to join Europe" – Gontareva said.

Also, the head of the NBU said that the Ukrainian legislation and the judiciary should also be at the appropriate level.

According to her, the National Bank intends to submit to the Parliament a bill to strengthen the protection of creditors.

"We need to prepare legislation that would protect the rights of creditors. We will  submit the bill to the Parliament soon," – Gontareva said.
