October Revolution. This historical event in the life of the former USSR, as well as the Soviet Union itself is now a part of history. And contemporary Revolution of Dignity on Maidan in Kyiv prompted Ukrainians to eradicate the remnants of Marxism-Leninism.
This winter a powerful flash mob swept Ukraine, which was dubbed the leninfall. They even created the map in the Internet. But activists who dared to dismantle Lenin, according to the Criminal Code, face fines, six-month arrest or restraint of liberty for up to five years.
And what about our Vynogradiv? For many years, a bust of Lenin was standing on this pedestal on Medentsiy Street, near the former cannery. He has disappeared in some of the recent months. So leninfall, though quiet, did take place in Vynogradiv. Criminal liability does not threaten anyone – initiators were not recorded.
