29-year-old acting village head, non-partisan Pavlo Mashiko was elected the new village head of Onokivtsi. He received 67.7% of votes.
His only opponent in the election – 47-year-old representative of the "UDAR", private entrepreneur Yaroslav Bilen scored only 32.3%. Overall, 70% of the villagers voted at the election.
The powers of the previous Onokivtsi village head Victor Dmytruk were early terminated on February 19 this year, by the decision of the village council members. The reason for that was the court decision, whereby the village leader was found guilty of corruption in the allocation of land.
