President Poroshenko signed the law "On lustration of power," adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on September 16.
It was reported by the press service of the president.
The law defines the legal and organizational basis of inspection of civil servants and persons equated to them, officials of local self-government "in order to restore confidence in the government and create conditions for the construction of a new system of government in line with European standards," the press service reported.
As you know, this bill was one of the demands of the public.
On September 16, 231 MPs supported the bill on lustration of power in the second reading, at first, the Parliament failed to vote.
The Parliament Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov then told MPs that he would not let them out of the room until the law on lustration is adopted.
The president had time until October 10 to sign the bill.
October 1 it was reported that members of the PACE Monitoring Committee submitted the text of the law of Ukraine "On lustration of power" to the Venice Commission for the analysis and conclusions.
