During the year, 51 children have been adopted in the region

As of August 29, 2014, there are 2368 orphans and children deprived of parental care in the region. Most children of this category (1897 children, or 80.1 per cent.) are covered with family care, including: 1520 children (64.2 percent) are under guardianship and live in families, 377 children (15.9 per cent.) are brought up in orphanages and foster homes.

During the current year, 51 children have been adopted in the region, including 37 – by citizens of Ukraine (including 8 children – during August). The database of prospective parents has been formed and is updated monthly. As of 30.07.14, it includes 53 couples.

As of 30.08.14, there are 40 family-type children’s homes (244 children) and 62 foster families (126 children) in the region. The total number of orphans and children deprived of parental care who are being brought up in orphanages and foster families is 370.

According to the forecast, in 2014, it is planned to give 41 children to foster families and family-type children’s homes in the region.
