An operative officer of Uzhgorod police, detained while receiving $ 1,000 of undue advantage, is on trial in court

The Prosecutor’s office approved the indictment and sent to the court the criminal proceedings on charges against a detective of Uzhgorod city police caught while receiving $ 1000 of undue benefit (Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As we reported, police officer extorted this amount from a Transcarpathian for not bringing the latter to justice.

The official was detained "red-handed" while receiving the second part of the previously agreed amount of a bribe in a restaurant in the city.

Currently, the official faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years, with confiscation of property and with a special forfeiture.
