The village of Rakoshyno, which is located right on the Kyiv-Chop highway, stopped the traffic on the major regional road. At the beginning and the end of the village, there are sort of checkpoints: people blocked the way with benches, flowerbeds, bicycles and themselves and for more than a day do not let any vehicles, except ambulances, go through.
They say that they blocked Kyiv-Chop highway, leading from the border with the states of the European Union, because they are against mobilization and do not want their loved ones to be sent to war. They do not put forth clear demands. They are waiting for officials to talk to them, to explain why over three hundred draft notices have been delivered in the village, and refugees from Donetsk and Luhansk regions are not mobilized. Neither representatives of regional authorities, nor politicians, nor the police officers of higher ranks have yet come to the village. More than one hundred trucks going from Europe to Ukraine are hostages of the blockers.
Goods are spoiling in trucks, drivers receive complaints from recipients of the goods, and they themselves lack food. Trucker Jozsef, who is carrying a tank of acid from Hungary to Dnepropetrovsk does not understand the situation, does not know what to do, and the cargo is dangerous. People complain that supposedly they take both young boys, and fathers with many children. However, we could not find a single person, who actually received a draft notice or whose relative, as blockers say, "was taken by the police." Most people at the block points are women and children.
Inspired by the example of Rakovhyno, residents of Znyatsevo also set up a checkpoint.
