The killed Uzhgorod officer was a native pf Mykolayiv

At night on 26 July, during the defense of Luhansk airport, an officer from Uzhgorod Dmytro Georgiev heroically died. 

Captain Dmytro Georgiev served in Uzhgorod military unit A1778 of the mountain infantry battalion and held a very responsible position of the Deputy Chief of Staff.

He was born August 17, 1977 in Mykolayiv. He was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 1994 as a soldier in active service. Soon he realized that the army was his calling, and chose serving in the Armed Forces as his profession.

Captain Georgiev loved his job and was a professional military specialist. He graduated from Odesa Army Institute majoring in "combat use."

During the service, the man moved to Uzhgorod, where he married and had two children. Thanks to his professionalism, in a relatively short period, Dmytro Georgiev was promoted to the Deputy Chief of Staff of the military unit and earned recognition and respect amongst the soldiers.

Colleagues remember Captain Georgiev as a high class specialist, excellent leader and at the same time a good and helpful person.
