Carriers claim that buses in Uzhgorod still run without profit

Carriers spoke during the discussion at the executive committee meeting on whether to increase bus fares or not. Thus, a representative of Uzhgorod motor carrier said that with the fares of 3 UAH, the return would be within 4-6%, and until now the carriers have been working without profit. 

The cost of 1 km of the route is 4 hryvnia 97 kopecks – the representative of the motor carrier said. Also they stress that all cities have raised fares to three hryvnia.

"The tender for the provision of passenger transportation services took place in autumn 2010, it is valid until autumn 2015" – the Acting Mayor Victor Shchadey said. "But alrady now we have to make carriers approach the demands of the city and the people. And we should start now to develop the terms and conditions of the tender so that carriers were prepared."

 According to Victor Shchaday, "the morale of drivers and compliance with schedule" are the most alarming. Carriers should be ready to stick to schedule, be responsible, Shchadey said.
