On Tuesday, June 24, in the village of Pylypets in Mizhhirya district, there was a round table discussion on "The use of renewable energy in the Carpathian region" and the presentation of the film "Biomass – energy of the Carpathians". The meeting was attended by representatives from all districts of Transcarpathia.
At the time, when gas supplies from the Russian Federation to Ukraine has been disrupted, the implementation of projects to convert state and municipal facilities to alternative energy is very relevant.
One of such projects and methods of its implementation were shown in the movie "Biomass – energy of the Carpathians". The film was shot in Mizhhirya district and Germany.
According to the head of Mizhhirya district state administration Andriy Sheketa, he had begun working on the project even before the appointment as the head of the district. The work lasted several months. The film, on the example of German settlements, shows how you can save by using heaters that run on wood waste. The use of this type of renewable energy is the most suitable for the Carpathian region, and Transcarpathia in particular, as was noted during the meeting. In the region, logging industry waste and the like can be used for this purpose.
The deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration Mykhailo Rivis said that such meetings are just the beginning, it is necessary to find the best option for using renewable energy in each district.
Also on this day, the director of the Department of housing and communal services, construction and infrastructure of the RSA Victor Lukecha presented the Concept of energy independence of Transcarpathian region. The main tasks are the promotion of energy-efficient methods among the population, replacing conventional energy sources with alternative fuels, typical for the region.
After the meeting, it was decided to perform analysis and to identify the facilities to be converted to alternative fuels in every district.
