Adventists will return the church its true colors!

The neo-Gothic church on Hrendzhi-Donsky square will soon be "reborn" with its authentic colors, namely the shades of gray. This was announced by the pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Uzhgorod Vasyl Chopik.

He said that "the restoration of the facade will last less than a month, the darker colors will be on the sides, and lighter will be in the middle. As it was planned at the start of the construction in 1914. Restoration work will have no effect on the activity of the congregation – Mr. Vasyl said. – Services will be held, and the Christian center "Zlahoda" will be working according to the schedule."

In the Soviet period the building was confiscated from the community (though the documents stated that they voluntarily gave up the property), and in the building, they equipped a department of the library, and later the gymnasium of Uzhgorod University. Only in the 1990s, the church was returned, however, to another community that renovated interior of the building at their own expense.
