The community of the village of Kostylivka in Rakhiv district started the patching repair of Lesya Ukrainka street.
This 1 km long road has not been repaired for years due to lack of funds – the Novyny Rakhova report.
"Thanks to active car owners – villagers, who provided cement, 2 mixers and other tools for the repair, the "EVK" LLC, which supplied gravel, about 300 m of the road was repaired during the first day. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this good cause" – Kostylivka village head Olga Smetaniuk wrote on her page in Facebook.
She expressed the hope that more residents would take part in the work and invited villagers to join the campaign on Wednesday, June 11. Also, the head of one of the longest villages of Transcarpathia appealed to her readers in social networks asking for all possible material (cement) and physical assistance.
It should be noted that it’s not the first time the stretch of the road of national importance Mukachevo-Rohatyn near Kostylivka is in the spotlight. Late last year, a snow avalanche came down there, which partly blocked one lane over 10 m on the 157th km of the highway.
