On Thursday, May 15, the European market fully opened for Ukrainian goods and services.
This was reported by "LigaBiznesInform."
About 98% of duties have been cancelled. The measures will remain in effect until November 1. The European Commission hopes that by that time, they will have signed a free trade agreement with Ukraine, which is a part of the Association Agreement.
According to EU, the free trade agreement could save for Ukraine about 500 million euros a year.
As reported, on March 21, Ukraine signed the political part of the Association Agreement with the EU.
The parties also signed an additional document called the Final Act, under which, until temporary approval by the parliaments of Ukraine and the EU Member States, the implementation of the political agreement will start immediately.
The economic part will come into force after the completion of the election process in Ukraine, in the period between summer of 2014 and the beginning of 2015.
