On the eve of the great feast of the Resurrection, the successful literary debut of three poets took place in the reading room of the Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library.
Khrystyna Pyda, Mariana Cherkes and Marichka Chernychko, as promised, "bared" their souls to the guests, and the latter even… undressed (while reciting poetry).
Among the guests, there were already well-known writers and scholars. The program also included musical numbers.
Transcarpathian writer Vasyl Kuzan at the literary debut said: "Small, fragile, but so genuine girls.They have so many emotions that they sometimes hide. However, their writing is very sincere. I know the poetry of Marichka Chernychko, and I’m less familiar with the works of other girls. But, whatever they write, I believe them."
And he wished the girls: "Write more to catch your tone and to find your style.You have a talent in music, poetry and prose.Improve yourselves."
Journalist Mykhailo Fedyshynets who came to support the girls, even gave one of them a cartoon by Adalbert Erdelyi. "Marichka Chernychko pleasantly impressed me in March last year. I immediately noticed rhymes and metaphors in her poems. This person definitely has a potential. And what she showed here was like a theatrical performance."
The girls’ literary debut was concisely summarized by the Head of the Russian Studies Department Natalia Bedzir. She reviewed the works of each of the girls. "Three linguists who are good with words, read a little bit, and are inspired by different literature – very unequal. Each of them is on different levels of poetic self-expression. For Mariana Cherkes this was one of the first recitals and it was noticable because of quite restrained poems that she has chosen.The first one – "Sakura in Uzhgorod" – is very professional.
Khrystyna Pyda has more experience, her poems were more intimate. They have almost no words, there is some personal limit (not beyond the boundaries of decency) and at the same time, there is sensuality – this combination struck me.
Marichka Chernychko presented a performance – it was interesting, an avalanche of words…
The third poet is more professional, therefore I was more fault-finding towards her. Marichka has wonderful works," – Mrs. Natilia said. But she also wished to be more careful with words.
Finally Natalia Bedzir thanked the girls for the attempt to usher into a great poetry.
