The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda commented on the today’s session of the regional council, during which the deputies considered the socio-political situation in Ukraine and decided to establish the People’s Council in Transcarpathia.
– In the current Constitution of Ukraine and laws of Ukraine, in particular, the Law "On Self-Government", there is no such body as the People’s Council. Today, they decided to establish the People’s Council. More details, as I understand, will be later, at the next meeting of the council. But, major developments are currently taking place at the Parliament.
As for the decision to withdraw police officers from the RSA building, Oleksandr Ledyda said:
– We have the contract on the protection of the administrative building by the police. Policemen have been protecting the building for 10-15 years now. There are as many of them as necessary to ensure public order.
Also the head of the RSA assured:
– Currently, all executive authorities in the region are working as usually, pensions, wages are being accrued, all protected items are being funded. Teachers, educators receive their salaries – that’s the most important thing.
