Last year, in Transcarpathia, 86 children became victims in road accidents, most of them were pedestrians

Last year, 553 traffic accidents with victims occurred in the region – 81 of them involved children. 11 children died, 75 – suffered various injuries.   Seven of the killed children were pedestrians. Five – met with an accident while riding bicycles, 2 – mopeds, 2 – motorcycles. It should be noted that only three accidents were caused by children themselves. In all other cases, injury and death of children was caused by adults violating traffic rules.

Mostly, victims of accidents were children aged 6-14 years (28 of them were injured, and two died) and 16-18 years (20 were injured, five died).

For 16 days of this year, 8 traffic accidents have occurred in the region in which children were injured, seven of them were pedestrians. As a result of accidents, 6 children were injured, and two died.

Once again, Transcarpathian traffic police appeals to drivers – be responsible. Follow the rules of the road, fate of young pedestrians depends on your behavior.
