400,000 is the price of a permit for land. This sum of money was allegedly received by the head of the village council in Uzhgorod district from an entrepreneur for assistance in allocation of land to him, the site of the regional Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
As the police found out, the suspect, using her official position, without an appropriate conclusion of the village council land commission, initiated at the session the consideration of a private entrepreneur’s appeal to allocate him the land in area of one and a half acres. However, she did it not for free, but received the "fee" in the amount of as much as 400,000 UAH!
Law enforcement officers learned about the illegal deal and initiated the pre-trial investigation of the criminal offense under Part 3 of Art.368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (bribery in a large scale). The chairman of the village council was notified of suspision of having committed a criminal offense. If her guilt is proven in court, she faces imprisonment for a term of 8 to 12 years with confiscation of property.
