Most goods are smuggled across Russian border

Last year, the State Border Service officers seized 1132 units of weapons, 13,600 units of ammunition, nearly 138 kilograms of drugs and smuggled goods worth about 175 million hryvnias, the press service of the SBS reported. Most of the goods were detained at the border of Russia and Poland, as well as in the marine area. In total, nearly 46 thousand reports on administrative violations on border issues were drawn up, and fines amounting to more than 27 million hryvnias were imposed.

Also. during this period, more than 1,900 illegal immigrants were detained at the border, including 944 who were detained while trying to cross the border, 14,000 invalid passports, as well as five hundred forged and other people’s documents were found.
