We continue the overview of key unpleasant innovations that which will "surprise" Ukrainians this year.In general, it’s nothing new: the budget again will be replenished from our pockets at the expense of our property and consumption.
2. Rise in prices for beer, vodka and cigarettes
The President of Ukraine signed the Law № 713 – VII "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding specific tax rates."
This law was adopted in the Parliament by 241 votes on December 19. The law provides for an increase in tax revenues to the state budget in 2014.
The bill provides for increase of the excise tax on beer by 35%, on spirits and other alcoholic beverages – by 14%, on tobacco and tobacco products – by 11.6%.
3. New excise duty on cars
On January 1, the excise duty on cars, converted from non-excisable trucks imported to Ukraine, came into force in Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Income, about a third of trucks imported to Ukraine after refitting are registered with the traffic police as excisable passenger cars. The amount of additional revenue to the state budget from the tax could reach 300 million hryvnias.
4. Cost of newspaper delivery will rise
Increased by 45-52% tariffs for delivery of domestic prepaid periodicals entered into force on January 1, 2014.
In particular, the cost of delivery of one A3 size newspaper (4 columns) is increased from 11.61 kop. to 16.83 kop. for national publications, from 8.79 kop. to 12.74 kop. – for regional publications, and from 7.70 kop. to 11.17 kop. – for local and regional publications.
In addition, the cost of delivery of one copy of the magazine (for each full or partial 50 g of weight) is increased from 46.44 kop. to 67.32 kop. for national publications, from 35,14 kop. to 50.96 kop. – for regional publications, and from 30.81 kop. to 44.68 kop. – for local and regional publications.
