The Prosecutor’s Office will verify the legality of the construction in another area of Uzhgorod

The Prosecutor’s Office in Uzhgorod initiated the verification of the legality of construction work on Shvabska Street in Uzhgorod. The reason for this was the publication of one of the Internet resources  about the outrage of Uzhgorod residents about the construction of a multi-storey building on the  land that is in close proximity to the children’s playground of the school № 5. Citizens of the city have not appealed to the prosecutor’s office on this issue.

In view of the foregoing, the prosecution of Uzhgorod sent the request for inspections by relevant inspectorates.

Therefore, the State Inspectorate for Agriculture, at the request of prosecutors of Uzhgorod, will inspect the construction on the said site in terms of compliance with the requirements of land 
legislation.

In addition, the State Architectural and Building Inspectorate in Transcarpathian region, at the request of the prosecutor’s office in Uzhgorod, will review the materials for the observance of 
legislation in the field of urban development and state building codes at the said construction. A similar request for inspection of the construction next to the school playground within its 
competence was sent by prosecutors to the Department of Education of Uzhgorod City Council. The Prosecutor’s Office will give a legal assessment to all collected materials, and in the case of  violations will take measures requesting to eliminate violations of the law and bring the perpetrators to justice.
