The police are looking for driver who fatally injured a pedestrian in Teresva

Recently, paramedics reported to Tyachiv District Police that in the village of Teresva there had been an accident with victims.

Having arrived at the scene, the investigative team found out that on 13.12.2013 from 17:00 to 17:30, the driver of an unidentified vehicle, moving in the direction of the village of Bedevlya, on Narodna street in Teresva, had hit a pedestrian who was a 33-year-old local resident. The victim died from his injuries, and the driver fled the scene.

According to the Tyachiv District Police Chief, Colonel Pavlo Basarab, the criminal proceeding over this fact has been initiated under Part 2 of Art.286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road safety rules, which caused the victim’s death). Sanction of this Article provides for punishment by imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
