The mayor kept his word and removed the item "On outdoor advertising" from the agenda of the Executive Committee meeting. The draft decision was developed due to the application of the entrepreneur Honar requesting permission to install 56 billboards on power line poles.
Yesterday the mayor in his statement declared that "the city is cluttered with advertising" and said he would remove the issue from the agenda. Earlier, the executive committee granted Honar the permission to install 114 billboards. And later, as they said, at the request of the entrepreneur himself, the decision was canceled.
How it agrees with the mayor’s statement about the excess of advertising in the city is an open question, as well as why the mayor decided just to exclude the issue of new billboards from consideration, rather than bring it to discussion and reject the request for permission by voting.
